January 30 - Feb 2, 2026 CERT Train the Trainer, This course prepares participants to deliver FEMA''s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Basic Training course. If we have our own trainers, South Whidbey Prepares can offer many more classes than is possible for our Island County staff. Our goal is to have at least 5 CERT graduates in every neighborhood.
February 13-15, 2026 Basic CERT training, Oak Harbor. This Community Emergency Response Team training includes basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERT offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations
